Buchanan, Julie
Julie Buchanan, CFRE, has worked with nonprofit organizations for over 20 years, most recently serving as Executive Director of the American Academy of Equine Art. Under her leadership there, she tripled their annual operating budget, secured funding for the construction of their national headquarters and education center and established their first Board of Trustees. Julie studied Arts Administration at the University of Kentucky with a specialty in Art History and Visual Arts and was awarded status as a Certified Fund Raising Executive in 2008. Julie has worked on development projects with nonprofit groups throughout the central Kentucky area including the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, Mary Todd Lincoln House, Kentucky Agriculture Heritage Center, Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, Ephraim McDowell Hospital Foundation, and Wesley Village Senior Living, among others. Additionally, Julie has a broad range of experience in special events, website development, marketing and public relations, startup office systems for young nonprofits, board development, volunteer training and management, donor prospect and funding source research, feasibility studies and capital campaigns. Julie is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and currently serves on the Board of the Bluegrass Chapter. She maintains memberships with the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and the UK Nonprofit Leadership Initiative. Julie joined Global Advancement in 2006. |
